The Arc’s Pandemic School Safety Membership Survey – Please Respond!

As you may have seen in the news, the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals recently ruled that the Americans with Disabilities Act requires schools to impose masking requirements if necessary to ensure students with disabilities have access to public school education. It also supports, as does the Arc, the need to accommodate a student with a disability who cannot mask for that reason.

The Arc of Iowa is a plaintiff in this case seeking to protect the rights of our members to go to school safely during this pandemic. You can read more about the case in the press release below.

In light of this recent decision, The Arc is seeking more information on our members who may be impacted.  If you have children with disabilities in public schools in Iowa, we would greatly appreciate it if you could fill out this quick survey to ensure we have all the information we need to continue to protect the rights of students with disabilities statewide.

Thank you so much for your time. Survey responses are requested no later than February 8.
